Boiled Custard

Boiled custard is like egg nog without the spices.

This is a family recipe. Both of my grandmother made boiled custard for Christmas. It is great with cake. Serve it in beautiful glass footed pedestal dessert bowls with a spoon. Add red Jello cut into chunks for a beautiful and taste Christmas treat. |
Ingredients:
- 4 cups(1 quart) milk
- 4 eggs, beaten well
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
Directions:
- Combine milk, eggs and sugar in microwaveable bowl.
- Microwave at 50% power for 8 minutes and stir.
- Microwave at 50% power for 8 minutes and stir.
- Microwave at 50% power for 8 minutes and stir.
- Repeat process until thick and coats spoon.
- Add vanilla after thick and remove from heat.
- Refrigerate until cool or put in the freeze and let it get icy.
- Serve the custard in glass footed pedestal dessert bowls with a spoon.
