Helpful Ideas
- Reuse plastic bottles to close up your plastic bags.
- Make sure your produce is absolutely dry before putting the cap on.
- Keep ginger in the freezer.
- It grates much more easily, and the peel grates up so fine that you don't actually need to peel it. Plus it lasts way longer.
- Roast nuts as soon as you get home from the store, then store them in the freezer.
- Nuts that are roasted have more flavor, keep longer, and can always be used in recipes that call for nuts, roasted or otherwise. Spread them in a single layer on a sheet pan, bake in a 350 degree oven for 15 minutes, or until golden brown and fragrant.
- Keep mushrooms in a paper bag, not a plastic bag.
- A plastic bag will trap moisture and cause them to mildew. Put them in a paper bag in the fridge or in a cool, dry place.
- Car Wax as Garden Shear Lubricant
- For cleaner cuts with less elbow grease, rub a little car wax paste on the hinge of garden shears so they don’t get jammed.
- White Nails
- Make paste from 1 Tablespoons peroxide and 2 Tablespoonsbaking soda and put on nails for 5 minutes and rinse.
- Unclog Drains with Baking Soda

- Pour ½ - 1 cup soda, then ½ cup vinegar, down a clogged drain.
- Immediately cover it with a wet cloth, wait 30 minutes, uncover, and flush with steaming-hot water 2 - 3 minutes.

- Removing Mildew from Clothing

Mix 1 cup water and 1 cup vinegar. Pour into a spray bottle and spray the item. Allow the item to sit in the sunlight. The sunlight will kill the mildew, and stop it from spreading.
Throw it in the wash, with an extra cup of vinegar, and 1/4 cup of salt.
Check item before drying
If the item is white, saturate the spot with lemon juice and allow to lay out in the sun until completely dry. The lemon juice combined with the sun, will bleach the stain.
Salt and vinegar scrub. Make a paste of salt and vinegar, and scrub (Gently) the spot with a toothbrush. Repeat if need
- Flea shampoo

- 1 cup liquid dish soap (I used Dawn for sensitive skin)
- 1 cup white vinegar
- 1 quart warm water
Directions:
Mix the three ingredients in a large bowl and then transfer to a empty shampoo bottle.Apply to your dog as you would normal shampoo. Massage it into the fur and let sit for 5 minutes. Rinse your dog thoroughly with warm water and dry. - Use dishwasher soap and hot water to unclog a toilet.
- Pour hot water and dishwashing detergent into a toilet before plunging.
- Put a duvet cover on in 24 seconds
- 1) Fold the duvet cover into quarters so one long opening is facing you.
2) Fold the duvet into quarters.
3) Slide the duvet, long crease first, into the opening of the duvet cover.
4) With your fingers, hold the two open corners of the duvet cover, along with the duvet corners. Shake it out.
