Excellent Brownie recipe and very easy.

Yield: 9 servings.

Ingredients:

  • 1 stick of butter (no substitutes)
  • 2 ounces unsweetened chocolate, chopped
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup almond brickle pieces
  • 1/2 cup miniature semisweet chocolate pieces

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350° F.
  2. Grease an 8"x8"x2 baking pan.
  3. Melt butter and unsweetened chocolate in a medium saucepan over low heat.
  4. Stir in sugar, eggs and vanilla.
  5. Using a wooden spoon, lightly beat the mixture just until combined - don't overheat or brownies will rise too high.
  6. Stir in the flour.
  7. Combine almond brickle pieces and semisweet chocolate pieces; reserve 1/4 cup of the mixture and set aside.
  8. Spread brownie batter in the prepared pan and sprinkle the brickle and chocolate piece mixture evenly over the batter.
  9. Bake for 30 minutes.
  10. Sprinkle with reserved brickle and chocolate piece mixture.
